Dear ACA Community,
Many students have been taking advantage of the incredible fall weather we’ve enjoyed the last few days. Lunchtime has been bopping with lots of Ga-Ga Ball, Kick Ball, Tether Ball, and Four Square. Thank you for the donations of new playground balls this week. The new equipment is being well used!
The big highlight of the week was our Symphony Orchestra’s performance at the Oregon City School District Board meeting on Monday. Let me tell you…our musicians put on an unforgettable show! At the end of the meeting the acting Board Chair, Michael Canchola, said, “What we saw tonight, the kids in that orchestra were fantastic!” I’ve been to many school board meetings and that was very enthusiastic praise. The microphones didn’t catch the first minute of the Symphony’s performance, but the sound was soon restored. Here is a LINK. Well done Claire, Wyatt, Sophia, Oliver, Wake, Bennett, and Mr. Edson!
Thank you to the parents who have stepped in to lend a hand around the school lately, especially while our custodian support has been inconsistent. Please remember to log your volunteer hours in the big binder at the PTO table.
Our generous PTO and volunteers treated the staff to two days of delicious coffee, pastries, and fruit on Monday and Tuesday for Staff Appreciation. There were festive signs and bouquets of flowers, fancy coffee condiments, and platters of baked goods. It looked, and tasted, like Love!
And to keep the fun going throughout the school, PTO surprised everyone with donuts for all on National Donut Day! How fun is that? Thank you Kate, Rachel, Jana and Lauree for pulling off the best surprises and for being amazing!
Mrs. Filippello has gone above and beyond to put together an opportunity for ACA to see the Nutcracker by Oregon Ballet Theater!

Reminder about next Friday, November 15: The Science of Reading seminar is coming to ACA! Learn from professional Barbara Steinberg how the brain learns to read and learn strategies and supports for all readers. We want any interested staff and our community of Home Educators to join us. Here is the link to the flier and please use this link to register. Our Student Government Club will be providing childcare. We could really use a couple of adult volunteers to partner with them and oversee the childcare area from 8:30 to 12:30. If you are able to help in this way, contact Mrs. B at RosemaryBuczkowski@aca.k12.or.us
